Professor Stephen Williams
Professor Williams is a rainforest ecologist specialising in understanding patterns and determinants of biodiversity and the impacts of climate change on the natural environment. He is Professor and Director of the Centre for Tropical Biodiversity and Climate Change (CTBCC) at James Cook University and the National Adaptation Research Network (Terrestrial Biodiversity). Professor Williams is heavily involved in research and national level policy on how we can plan and adapt in order to minimise the future impacts of climate change on Australian biodiversity. The CTBCC is internationally recognised as a leader in climate change impacts research and Professor Williams is one of the most highly cited global change biologists.
