Branching out in the field: Entangle yourself in research infrastructure, art and education

Entangle yourself in research infrastructure, art and education.

Workshop Convenors: Eleanor Velasquez, Elisa Girola and Beryl Morris (TERN Australia) and Keith Armstrong and Dave Tucker (Queensland University of Technology).

Join us for an energising afternoon at TERN’s Samford peri-urban SuperSite, located at the Samford Ecological Research Facility where we invite you to immerse yourself in a unique peri-urban forest ecosystem. The site features dry sclerophyll forest, remnant notophyll vine thicket, mixed with regenerating pastureland, pasture experiments and active scientific, educational and artistic experiments. Engage your senses with a ‘choose your own adventure’ style field experience.

This workshop is a field-based workshop and requires you to wear PPE appropriate to working outside in potentially hot conditions.

You should bring at a minimum: a hat, enclosed sturdy shoes, long sleeved shirt and long pants, plus a refillable water bottle. Facilities for refilling your bottle are available onsite.

We will also be catching a bus on the Wednesday afternoon at approximately 1.15pm, please arrive promptly to the meeting place and take any motion sickness medication prior, as the trip has steep and winding sections.

Transport to the site, light refreshments and afternoon tea included in the ticket price.
